Shag Shag Shag
I have to admit after seeing them, I'm a huge fan of Shag's work. For those of you who don't know him, Josh Agle, better known as Shag, is a painter with a particular taste for exotica, early sixties guitar instrumentals, and vintage movie and television themes.
Also an avid tiki collector, Shag's love for tikis and primitive art has helped define a distinct style which is quickly becoming recognizable as "Shag Art." The themes of his paintings are based on vintage sources and ideas, yet his sharp, illustrative approach is unmistakably his own. the artist is intrigued mostly with the period between 1958 and 1966; its music, fashions, advertising, and celebrities. Shag's work is always characterized by a level of craftsmanship and cleanliness uncommon in most visual art today, heavily influenced by graphic designer Saul Bass and cartoonist Gene Deitch.
We have a few of his limited edition prints in stock so stop by and check em out.

Sue
